Never works when needed

I bought this$$$ to use when I had no signal. But almost every time I need it, it doesnt work because it needs the maps downloaded AGAIN. It seems that you finally get the maps to download, then at some point they update the app which requires you to download the maps AGAIN. You find this out when you need to use but cant. It wont even work if you have cell signal because the maps are too large to download without fast wifi.
Dont waste your money on this.
