I just bought this app on Friday November 28th 2014 but used it driving around over the weekend and it so far has worked flawlessly on my iPhone 6. The interface is just like my Nuvi 265. So far I love this app! And now one less electronic device I have to carry around in my car. Update 12/7/14: The app works great and still 5 stars just wish they would put a detour option on the map so you dont have to scroll back and also give an option for the voice navigation audio default from the phone itself not Bluetooth. I dont like navigation through Bluetooth as there is a delay as the Bluetooth connects and interrupts my music too often when there are lots of turns so I have to manually turn on phone audio every time I connect...just little conveniences would make this app perfect and these are very minor complaints. Update 9/25/15- using app on a road trip to Shenadoah National Park. Downgraded one star from 5 to 4. App just uses wrong street names in the voice prompts every so often but the mapping is working good. Wrong street names is annoying though. I am not going to update to latest version until I am home as if this app stops working I wont have my gps to guide me home and its 2015, who carries a paper map with them anymore? haha.

Stuck in a loop of "application restart is required to download new maps" then after the app closes itself and i relaunch it, the same thing happens all over again. I literally cant do anything.

Since latest update, says map update is needed, click on update maps, app must restart to update, open app, says map update is needed, click on update maps, app must restart to update, open app. . . repeat, repeat, repeat.

Traffic condition colors were well chosen- green good, yellow slow, red bad. But the route color shows as magenta, hard to tell from red. Maybe blue or orange would show better.

I cannot navigate away from the "Map download" and "Map management" pages. This is a great app when it works; however, the recent update makes it completely worthless.

Years after this app launched, one big issue remains - each map update requires a complete re-download of all map data rather than applying incremental changes. This means you have to babysit the download process for several gigabytes worth of data every time the maps are updated (once every few months). The Garmin map data server is bandwidth constrained - even on a very fast connection your map download will pause or go slowly at times. Expect to spend up to several hours letting your device do its download thing and checking it once in a while to make sure it’s still downloading. Sometimes, as just happened to me, the map download will restart from the beginning. I had over 2GB downloaded of the 2.5GB map and it started over from the beginning. Also a warning - if you have automatic app updates enabled and Garmin releases a new version, the new version will require a new map download immediately - otherwise you’ll have no maps available. Very unfortunately, new Garmin app versions do not give you a choice about continuing to use your existing installed maps so if you’re on the road or away from a fast connection, you’re now without Garmin maps. A big problem. The Garmin map downloads continue to be a big pain in using this app. A minor thing - wish the app was called Garmin NA for ex, or Garmin, and the app icon reflect the map region. Instead the app is called “N. America” - which I don’t personally like.

The latest update for this app came out last week! It would not let me route long distance routes using my new iPhone 6s Plus (But the same software update did work on my old iPhone 5 using the same last weeks Garmin update) on trips such as: Atlanta, GA to Camp Meeker, CA Or Atlanta, GA to Fort Richardson, AK ( A trip taken by our Armed Forces personnel in change of station moves.) It said it the 2gb ram, 128 gb hard drive on the iPhone 6s Plus did not provide enough memory to run the routes.

Uninstalling and re-downloading the app fixed the restart loop the issue for me.

Ive been using the Garmin N America app on my iPhone for many years and find it to be an excellent product and very much worth the $60 cost. The ver 2.10 update requires two sets of mandatory map relevant files be downloaded, along with your optional selection of map files. If you load only the two mandatory file sets, the app will appear to loop between map installation screens, which can give the impression of a software bug, as other v2.10 reviewers may be interpreting.

What happen that "Route Calculation Error"!!! I need a navigation right now, but do I have to purchase other device to go my destination??? Best Buy was closed already. May be Id better buy Paper Map at 7-Eleven. Funny Funny~~~ Oh! First I have to confirm that whether they are selling the maps or not. Please! Fix all problem quickly!!!

After recent upgrade I can no longer use the Garman app. I cannot access my context to look up their addresses to get directions.

I loved this app, but since iOS 9, when I click Contacts, the screen goes black and the app closes.

The latest update doest route from New York City to any address in New Jersey State. The following error appears "Route calculation error.". Fix this issue please.

Problem is more often than not they update it and leave it broken for months. Was stuck in the "update your maps" restart loop so I decided to reinstall it from the App Store, now instead of the restart loop it just tells me theres an authentication failure and that I need to download the newest version from the App Store... That I literally just did... Cmon Garmin!

Garmin is awesome. Worth the money for the offline support nationwide. I can even use the app on my old iPhone with no cellular simply through GPS and the app data.

Please fix this problem ASAP.

I bought this ages ago, to go to Canada (before I had cell phone service there) and rural areas (parks without cell phone service). It is big, and the roads are often incorrect in Quebec, and the interfaces clunky. And it doesnt include free traffic. But the map service is still free for me!

It show me the paths I have driven in blue. However it also shows ghost paths that I have never been on, and worse, dont exist!! I hope this is fixed in the next update.

Dont buy program is junk, speeds are never correct and now the stupid thing opens and closes cant even use it. Regret buying within ten minutes. Just use google maps dont waste money on this.
