I bought this$$$ to use when I had no signal. But almost every time I need it, it doesnt work because it needs the maps downloaded AGAIN. It seems that you finally get the maps to download, then at some point they update the app which requires you to download the maps AGAIN. You find this out when you need to use but cant. It wont even work if you have cell signal because the maps are too large to download without fast wifi. Dont waste your money on this.

It took a couple of days, but I did get the map updates to load. So for those of you struggling, there is a glimmer of hope... Or so one would think. Once I had the maps I set about laying in my next trip, an 800 mi jaunt. Instead of the rather excellent mapping Ive become accustomed to, I get an error message, "Route calculation error. Not enough memory." Tech support suggested closing all other apps (something Id already tried), or split the route in half. Dude, if I knew the midway point on my minimum highway use road trip, I wouldnt need your app in the first place! What the heck does the Garmin name stand for anymore? Im still hoping tech support will come through. If they do, I will update this review and add stars as performance improves. ------------------------------- UPDATE: Well, I worked with Tech Support. They had me waste a couple of days deleting and reinstalling, all for nothing. Rather than take responsibility, the blame the iPhone and became dismissive. Its been months. There have neither fixed the problem, offer a refund, or even call. Garmin has our money, and has abandoned the product. They are incompetent, and staffed with people who are perfectly willing to go along with the gag. My guess is that they plan to wait us (users) out so we each go our miserable ways. Look at these ratings! It speaks a lot about a company who just does not care about its product or customer base. This was once a great product, but now I regret installing them on my phone. I take every opportunity to share Garmins shabby treatment and horrible product. DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS APP, ITS BECOME A CON AND SCAM

I have been waiting almost 2 years for my home address to appear in the map database! 2 years! I live in a large suburb - but that doesnt seem to matter. The absolute only reason to use this app is when there is no cellular reception. Even then there are other GPS apps that do this function as well so...

It just keeps asking me to update and then closes the app. Please fix! iPhone 6s iOS 9.3.1

Garmin has not updated this app since Sep 2015, it is now well past their typical update interval. Multiple emails with Garmin since then have promised an update is forthcoming "soon" but nothing so far. Too bad because I had found this to be a trustworthy navigation app for several years before the Sep 2015 update. Even that update though totally missed the mark when it came to compatibility with Apples ios9 revisions.The updated app would crash when trying to navigate to a Contact and when calculating a long distance route.
